Nowadays, we live in a demanding world. This is especially the case in the design industry. Most of us tend to feel quite overwhelmed with the number of requirements we need to accomplish on a day-to-day basis. These days, it’s almost a necessity to get a certification if we want to boost our careers in any meaningful way.

However, we can’t deny that there are plenty of other, legitimate reasons why we should be backing up our careers with reputable training. After all, we’re living in the era of knowledge. In competitive times, it’s critical to stand out. By taking a course that provides us with all the right skills for our professional future, we can make this happen.

For this reason, I decided to enroll in QC Design School’s Feng Shui Design Course. During my studies, I had the opportunity to learn 5 essential truths that have been a game-changer for my business. Today, I’m going to share them with you.

1 – Our home are a reflection of our lives.

In my personal and spiritual path, I’ve learned about the law of the mirror. If you haven’t heard about this concept, I can give you an easy explanation. The law of the mirror tells us that we can see a reflection of ourselves in another person through observation. In QC’s Feng Shui Design Course, I realized that this concept doesn’t apply exclusively to people.

When you begin your Feng Shui training, a new world opens in front of you. I learned how to locate the Bagua Map in my clients’ houses. I also began to comprehend the direct correlation between my clients’ lives and their homes.

Since my training, I’ve discovered how the law of the mirror also applies to our spaces. In QC’s Feng Shui Design Course, you’ll gain the skills needed in order to gently highlight the importance of this concept. As a result, your clients will learn to live more consciously in each room. They’ll become aware of the impact the state of their home can cause in every aspect of their lives.

2 – Everything is connected.

After understanding the Bagua Map (and each aspect of life on it), I then learned the connection of every object and element within the home. When you internalize this idea in your projects, you become aware of every item you’re proposing.

Luckily, your Feng Shui training will teach you how to move the elements correctly, to create better energy flow. This particular skill allows you to be more perceptive when locating objects and/or decor elements for your client’s space.

3 – It’s important to balance the five elements.

To me, the key and essence of Feng Shui is to balance the five elements:

  1. Fire;
  2. Water;
  3. Earth;
  4. Wood;
  5. And metal.

At least for me, this was one of my more significant learnings. I learned how to combine these elements through color, material, texture, and images. This knowledge has allowed me to successfully put these elements into practice with my real-world clients.

The more projects you work on, the better you’ll become at perceiving the energy within spaces. This is an ability that you’ll develop with time and experience. Still, it’s fundamental to know how to propose the correct solutions and/or specific cures. When it comes to Feng Shui design, this is key for successful consultancies and happier clients.

4 – Decluttering is essential.

If you want to be a Feng Shui consultant, you absolutely NEED to be an organized person. After all, organization is a major component in this area of design. Your certification training will teach you everything you need to know about making (and keeping) spaces tidy and functional. As a result, not only do you get to benefit from this knowledge – you can bestow it upon your clients, too.

One of the best pieces of advice you can give your clients is to declutter their home. Clutter creates places for negative, stale energy to fester. It limits the flow of positive Ch’i that’s trying to move from room to room. Space adjustments will allow your client to properly feel the changes in their lives, and access vital energy that will ultimately make their lives better.

5 – Different clients require different solutions.

The last – and most important – skill I learned from my Feng Shui training was to consider every client’s profile. As part of your course assignments, you’ll go through case scenarios and propose appropriate solutions, based on that specific client’s needs.

Remember: no two clients will ever be exactly the same. This means that there’s no “one-size-fits-all” solution in Feng Shui design.

Some people firmly believe in the traditional Feng Shui cures. Others are not so aligned with these solutions. Fortunately, QC’s Feng Shui Design Course gives you the tools to manage these situations. The curriculum will stimulate your creativity and make you more ingenious when proposing design solutions.

Searching for a Feng Shui Course

When I was trying to find the right course, I found myself hesitating a lot. So, I took a moment to search my mind and really pinpoint what it is I wanted to learn – and how I wanted to learn it. I’m a pretty big bookworm and I love studying, especially with physical books. It was important that whichever Feng Shui course I took, I’d be able to improve my skills in a way that worked best for me.

Almost immediately afterwards, I found QC Design School. One of the things that stood out to me about QC was its presence in English-speaking countries. As an international student who speaks English as a second language, I knew that taking their Feng Shui Course would be a bit of a challenge. At the same time, though, I knew it would give me an advantage.

It was exactly the international experience I was looking for – particularly because I needed to be able to do my training virtually. Apart from the slight language barrier I knew I’d face, QC Design School’s credibility, reviews, and course catalog quality convinced me to enroll. In retrospect, this was the best decision I could’ve possibly made!

A Look Into QC’s Feng Shui Training

A lot of people who pursue Feng Shui training have likely heard of it before and are aiming to deepen their understanding of it. In my case, it was a completely NEW topic. Fortunately, the Feng Shui Design Catalogue that QC offered was clear enough to follow.

I was excited to begin the program. When I received all the materials, the books, the color palette, and the Feng Shui accessories, I was delighted! Everything was very professional and complete.

Throughout the educational process, you have the support of your designated tutor. This tutor will always be available to help and respond to any questions you might have. My tutor, Ivy Ellerby, was very coherent with her comments and feedback on each of my assignments. The course has a practical methodology. You quickly realize what you’re doing right and where you need to improve.

I encourage you to read all of the course catalogues so YOU can see which QC course would best suit your needs. If you have any comments or questions, don’t hesitate to leave them below. You can also connect with me directly by joining our free Virtual Classroom on Facebook!
