As a child, I grew up in a small Appalachian Mountain community within the United States. We used to have a saying there: “You’re too smart for your own good.”

The saying had two different meanings, depending on the tone of the person using it. First, it could reference a person who mistakenly thought they knew everything. Basically, a know-it-all who believed they had all the answers, all the time.

The same thing can be said for interior designers who know a lot about design concepts. Knowing interior design and knowing energy are as different as night and day.
